I have been involved in the non-profit sector for most of my life.
I am an educator, mom and wife. I've served as president of women’s and youth groups within the community through various organizations including the Hart School District for the past 30 years. Each of my five children have graduated from elementary, middle, and high schools within the Santa Clarita Valley. This has helped to drive my involvement and interest in serving the valley’s youth. My experience and training has equipped me with skills that uniquely qualify me to contribute to the health and well-being of the district.
The most important quality I look for in a candidate is Integrity. I need to know I can trust them. Raising 5 children in the public school system,
I didn’t have time to attend board meetings or meet all school employees to ensure they were qualified. I hoped there were good people in charge at all levels who truly cared about the rising generation.
After mentoring my children to adulthood, living positive and productive lives of their own, I turned my full attention to serving as your school board representative. During my service, my concern for all children has driven my actions. I value EDUCATION and see it as a critical benefit to our students' future. I have worked to ENGAGE our community by building relationships and truly listening to students, parents and school staff. I endeavor to ELEVATE our district by being that candidate that I always hoped for as a young mother and concerned citizen.
I’d be honored to continue as your eyes and ears, making sure that your children are cared for and your tax dollars are hard at work with your VOTE: Wilson for Hart to achieve the best outcome for student success.
Education is freedom.
Education is power.
Education is the way to open doors to opportunity. Education can even cure poverty. It is a way to light the fire of hope and inspiration, and the way to unite people to a common goal as well.
Sitting in class doesn't guarantee that a student is learning. That is why it is essential for students to be Engaged, to take a personal interest in what they are learning and why they are learning it.
We have students who go to high
school with just graduation
as the end goal!
Lets help those students expand their vision by involving parents to help them get to college… with a scholarship! Or to a career! Or both!
